Sharon from Mitsubishi told us: “Our Learning Curve Renewable Energy sessions are aimed at Primary school aged children, although we have had visits from year 7 age groups too.

We hold the sessions at our training centres around the country – Hatfield, Reigate, Bristol and Manchester. We also have a partnership with Wigan Warriors to run it at their education facility in Wigan. Hopefully we will be able to off it at other training centres in the near future.

Each location holds a different size of class from a maximum of 15 in Bristol to 30 in Hatfield. We recommend that a minimum group of 8 children for the session to run effectively.

The session last approximately 3 hours and includes an introduction to renewable energy and looking at how the children can save energy in their homes. There is then a short break and then 3 sessions. These sessions cover solar energy, air and ground source heating technology, and reduce, reuse, recycle. The 3 sessions include experiments and a fun craft. There is then a quick conclusion with details of some things they can do at home and information about our poster competition.

The children will get a workbook to use during the session and to take home afterwards.

We often get school councils, eco groups and youth groups attend, so we are able to cater for a mixed age group, as well as a set school year group. If you would like to book a date to get a group of home educated children to visit please contact me.

I’ve attached some details about our sessions and I can provide risk assessments and maps/directions for each office, if you require.” [See above]
